You are best to install Calibre. Errors get fixed and when they do, you'll want the newest version. Also, the DLLs and other programs are intertwined. You won't easily be able to tell what does what. You'll have to look at the source code to see what's what and unless you have a correct compiler environment setup, you'll never get Calibre compiled from source. The space you save with what files are not needed it so minimal, that you'd be best off with the full Calibre.
