Not a technical blow by blow of every quark, but from a guy that reads three books a day, and has more than 30k books on my Kobo, this is the cats pajamas. Cool beans to have the covers in color, glad I spent the time to get decent ones. I guess I will need to buy a cover, but the ones I have will work fine for now. So glad I kissed Kindle goodbye.
Love to read this.

I will say adios too to my Papaperwhite soon.

Yes, comics. I am also trying to make an effort to switch from my Kindle(s) to my Libra Colour and comics are an issue. As a matter of fact I have a recent post asking for help about this. I have been googling the hell out of it and have pieced together a process that worked, at least for the one comic I have tried so far. It involves a bit of peanut butter gargling so hold on...

First step, you only need to do this once...Under Calibre 'Preferences->Interface->Toolbars and menus->main toolbar add Unpack book.

Then for each comic you need to do the following:
1. Import the Kindle AZW3 into Calibre.
2. With that comic highlighted choose Unpack book.
3. Select AZW3 in pop up dialog, hit Explode book.
4. After that runs, it opens file explorer to the exploded comic. Within Images subdirectory is the comic. There are other subs but I have no idea yet what they are or if you need them.
5. I would copy contents of images subdirectory to somewhere else as the directory you are brought to is a temporary directory which goes POOF when you exit Unpack book dialog.
6. Next, select all images in image sub, right click, select Compress to ZIP
7. rename zip to something meaningful and change file extension to .CBZ (Not sure if need to change extension or not, but I did)
8. close the Unpack book dialog.
9. within Calibre add the newly created CBZ file to library.
10. Connect the Kobo
11. Send that new file to the Kobo, eject and enjoy.

All that worked for me. The comic I tried it with was Dune The Graphic Novel Book 1. It is now on my Kobo Colour and looks great.

I am hoping there is a simpler way to do this and someone will call me out on it or answer my other post. I hope this works for you.

well, all my disney stuff is cbr or cbz which works just fine. Most of the rest of the colored things are pdf. I really don't have any kindle items in color that i would want to transfer. But, I am sure others do, so thank you for the help.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! I had a few beautiful DK books (e.g. Ancient Egypt, Cultural Treasures) that I could not convert successfully from kindle to use on my Kobo Colour. I tried everything with the Kindle Unpack plugin and various ePub editors etc. but could not get them to convert to ePub successfully. (They always stuck at 47% or 67%).

Using your method, I was able to extra the images and import these books as CBZ format. The pages are like scanned image files which are non-reflowable, so I figured it was worth a try. Well - apart from no longer showing 2 page view in landscape mode - they function perfectly on my new reader.

Is it possible that in horizontal mode it shows a single page of the comic (adjusted to the width of the screen) and that it can be scrolled vertically?
Thanks
No, the CBZ / CBR reader in the firmware seems to default to "best fit". You'll need KOReader or Banana Manga Reader to do that https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=348950

I really like the crisp screen, the small form factor and the “snappiness”.
I’m a bit disappointed by the frontlight though, the screen seems darker at the top. Am I crazy to be bothered by the uneven light? Are your BW the same or should I try to get a replacement at the store?
Yes! I created a profile just to answer this. I've got the same issue. Also, I notice that the lights on your screen at the bottom cast a bit of shadow on the bottom left corner of the screen? I mention this because mine does that too and it bothers me more than the apparent "orangeness" of the top of the screen VS the "whiteness" of the bottom, though it is hard to capture in a photograph. Attaching pic of what I mean.

there was a discussion in this thread regarding what pens could be used for the libre colour, but for the life of me, I can't find it. Help please, I will give you a cookie. Thank you.

The Metapen Stylus M1 and M2 will work. You can find it on Amazon. Any stylus that will work with a Microsoft Surface.

What does your User CP => profile settings => edit signature show? Looks like you added a counter at some point (?)

I brought it back to the store today and they exchanged it, the frontlight of the new unit seems to be better but not as great as my Libra2 or my partners Clara 2e. The imperfections of this one bother me less so I'm keeping this one
