Kepub -> epub conversion?
So I have this book, only available as kepub , and I have located it on my hard drive. I renamed it to xxx.epub and imported it into Calibre. It is recognized (the title shows) but on opening it is a garbled mess. Evidently there's something else I need to do. But what? There's a kepub output plugin, but would there be a kepub to epub conversion thingy?

Googling "Apprentice Alf" would help you with drm issue.

And a different DRM scheme, I'm afraid.

Hold on, I already have the DeDRM plugin installed in Calibre. It's supposed to automatically strip DRM on import. So is there an added complication with kepub?

Yes, no calibre plugin for kepub, I'm afraid. Google "apprentice Alf".

OK, thanks all. I'll try python. Let's put this thread to rest before a moderator wakes up.

As the others have said, Kobo uses a different DRM scheme for kepubs. Try googling "obok".
